Transition

I love how the table transitions through different ages. My child seems empower to use it for eating meals or playing on. I wish though the table could withstand more. My kid has used her spoon several times to beat against the table denting the table in several locations. I also wish I could simply toss the table in the tub to deep clean without causing water damage. My pet peeves and perhaps areas of improvement given the price tag of the table.

Wonderful little table

I absolutely love this table and chairs set. It's beautiful, high-quality, easy to clean, and a great size for my son to grow into (he's almost 2). He sits at his table and colors every single day. I love that it doesn't stick out as a typical kids item--no wacky colors, no branding--and it truly was fun to assemble. I love the idea of not needing tools to build things and the way this set comes together is genius.

There are just a few minor issues that I noticed: one or two snaggy spots on the table that may need to be sanded so my son doesn't get a splinter, a couple small spots where there's a gap in the layers like a small chunk is missing from an inner layer of wood, and the instructions are adhered to the under side of the table and chairs. The instructions don't show at all once assembled, so that's not really a problem. But for some reason I felt the urge to remove the sticker under the table and that was a huge pain that took longer than the entire assembly. I guess I just believe wood furniture should have stickers that are very easy to remove or it should not have stickers at all (I've have this issue with other things and maybe that's why it bugs me).

Overall, the negatives I mentioned are seriously minor and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I will definitely be purchasing from Sprout again in the near future.

Beautiful little table and chairs

This table is so beautiful and I love the adorable little chairs! They are lightweight, sturdy, easy to clean, and a great size for my son to grow into. Assembly was fairly simple and I was able to get everything together by myself in about 30 minutes. I actually found the process to be quite fun. I am so happy to find a nice little table that doesn't have any branding on it and doesn't stick out as a kids item. I do have a couple very small complaints, however. There are instruction stickers on the underside of the table and each chair seat. You can't see them once assembled, but I made the mistake of thinking they would be easy to remove. I spent more time removing one sticker than I spent building all three pieces. This isn't really a big deal, I should have left it alone. I just think stickers on furniture should be easy to remove or not there at all. The other thing I want to mention is that there are some very slight imperfections in the table. There are a couple "snaggy" spots on the edges that we will probably have to sand down to avoid splinters/scratches. There are also two spots where I can see a gap in the wood layers, like there's a chunk missing from one of the inner pieces. All in all, these minor things don't affect the beauty, function, or assembly of this set and I still give it 5 stars because my son and I both love it.

Perfect for our toddler

We bought this shortly before our son turned two. It arrived quickly and we assembled it in no time. Over the past few months it has received daily use: our toddler enjoys eating breakfast there, and sometimes other meals as well (especially with a friend to join him in the other chair!) He uses it for art projects and can easily get into and out of the chairs by himself, they are a perfect height. It is super easy to wipe down and keep clean and looks the same as the day we received it - it is holding up very well to the usual toddler wear and tear. I’m very pleased with this, which was my first purchase from Sprout, and definitely recommend it to others looking for a great little table and chair set that can grow with your child for a few years.

Beautiful & Study, But No Tools Does NOT Mean No Effort

Let me start by saying that I JUST finished putting together the table and chairs, so I'm little worn out and irritated. I'm sure over time though, I will look back fondly at this and laugh. That said, one of my main reasons for purchasing this furniture over other leading brands, is because of the no-tool assembly. I remember watching the YouTube video for how to assemble the table, and noticed they had a woman assembling it. So I was confident in my ability as a woman to put this together on my own. While I did succeed, I nearly pulled a muscle in my arm. The video does not give you an accurate sense of how much muscle you have to put into various steps of the assembly. So yes, the instructions are easy to follow, and not having to use tools was nice I suppose. But I think I would have traded the workout I experienced in assembling this to use tools with less effort. The effort involved also made me worry I'd break this! Also, these specific chairs did not appear to have an assembly video, even though the instructions sheet said there was one. I tried searching on YouTube but I only found videos for other Sprout chairs, and there are some slight variations which make those videos useless to watch. In the end, I still gave this 4 stars because it looks lovely, feels very study and safe for my two-year-old to use, and candidly, I love to support companies that make everything in the USA. But I share my experience to give you a reality check. No tools does NOT mean no effort.

Hi Tara, I'm sorry you had a hard time putting the table and chairs together! Our table and chair sets use a tension-lock system which means you will have to sometimes bend the wood a little to get it into place. However, once it's in place, it will resist falling apart by accident while your child is using the furniture. If you ever struggle to put together or take apart your furniture, you are welcome to call our product experts, and they will assist you!

Great table for my daughter

well built , strong enough for me to sit in the chair (250lbs)and play with my one year old. The finish stands up to spills and the top cleans up easy after meals.
