This is a twin-size bed frame. Dimensions vary based on configuration.
- Platform: 75" L x 38" W x 2.75" H
- Platform with Rails: 78.5" L x 40.5" W x 15.75" H
- Headboard: 38.5 W x 18.75" H
- Rail Slats: 2.75" wide and 0.5" apart
- Slat roll: each slat is 2.875 inches apart, with 18 slats across the length of each platform
- There is 9 inches between the floor and the bottom of the raised platform.
- For the upper bunk the top of the platform is 43 inches off the ground.

American-grown, solid Red Oak. Made with no MDF or binders.
Clear, water-based finish (low in VOC content and is UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low chemical emissions).

Mattress Information
Both bunks of this bed are designed for twin mattresses with the following dimensions:
75” L x 38.5” W and a thickness of 4-8"
Never use a mattress over 8" thick on the top bunk. The surface of mattress must be at least 5" (127mm) below the upper edge of the guardrails to ensure your child's safety.
FAQ
How old does a child need to be to use the top bunk?
Federal Regulations state that the top bunk should not be used by a child under 6 years of age. A child younger than 6 years typically does not have the coordination to climb safely or to keep from falling out.
I currently have two Sosta Beds. Can they be configured into a bunk bed?

Can I utilize the legs from my Sosta Bed to elevate the Bunk Bed higher?
The legs from the Sosta Bed platform are not compatible with the Bunk Add-On. You can raise the bottom bunk platform as your child grows or when you want additional storage space under the bed.
Why is there a sticker on the Bunk Bed headboard? Do I need to keep the sticker on the headboard?
Federal regulations state that the warning label must be attached to the upper bunk end structure. We do not recommend trying to remove it.
Can the bunk bed be used as a loft bed by removing the bottom platform?
No, this product is not designed to be used as a loft bed. In order to ensure you have a safe experience with the Sosta Bunk Bed we recommend the bottom platform is always assembled fully per the assembly guide.
Can I add Sideboards to the bottom bunk?
Yes! The bottom bunk can be used with either one 3/4 Sideboard or two 1/3 Sideboards. They can be purchased seperately on the Sosta Bed A La Carte listing.
Can the Bunk Bed be used as two Floor Beds when not in a bunk configuration?
Yes! It can be used seperately or taken apart and used as two twin platform beds.
Assembly Help
We purchased this bed before our second kid was born because we know we want them to share the same room and grow up closely. This bunk bed gives the option to be a bunk bed and separated on its own. Our first kid just started to sleep on his own bed and the low level bed is a perfect bed since it is so close to the floor so we don't worry when he rolls off the bed. When he does roll off the bed, he would go back to the bed on his own without a fuzz. The full size bed allows an adult to accompany the kid in the lower level bed if necessary and still be comfortable unless the adult is extra wide and long.
I highly recommend this bed if you are looking for a bunk bed that will last for more than a decade and made responsibly.
I love the versatility of the Sosta bed. Our older child has been sleeping on the twin version for awhile now, and we recently purchased the bunk add on after transitioning our younger out of the crib. Overall it feels super sturdy and was fairly straightforward to assemble.
Separately, there were some delivery issues, but customer service was great and got it sorted out quickly. I would highly recommend this bed and Sprout in general.

We have the bunk bed and have loved it!! And actually we recently took it apart for the two separate floor beds. I know you can’t add the legs from the original sosta bed to the beds when they’re in the bunk configuration, but could we get the legs and add them now that the are beds are separated?
You can absolutely add legs to the beds now that they are separated, as the Sosta Bed is designed to be completely modular and customizable. You can find the legs in the Sosta Bed a la Carte collection.
Hi - the dimensions are confusing. Is it 59” high with either the floor or raised setup? Or is the floor bed setup 9” shorter?
Hi there! Great question. The Sosta Bunk Bed is 59" tall in both the Floor Bed and Raised Bed configurations. When in the raised configuration the platform will sit higher on the the ends of the bunk which will minimize the space between the two beds.

Hi my kids are not old enough to do bunk beds- would you recommend getting two sosta beds now and then later buying the parts needed for bunk beds or buying the bunk beds now and separating them until they’re old enough? I do like the idea of being able to raise both beds when they’re separated. Approximately how much of a price difference would it be between these two options?

This is a great question! While you can proceed with either option you presented, it may be easier to buy two separate Sosta Beds in the configurations that best fit your needs right now. When you are ready for the bunk, you can purchase the bunk add-on conversion kit on our website or reach out directly to our support team for direct assistance with getting the parts you need! Price difference will vary depending on the configuration of Sosta Bed you purchase but keep in mind, each bed in the bunk utilizes 2 standard headboards, 2 full sides and one 3/4 side so these are great options to get now that will still be utilized when you transition to the bunk arrangement.
