Good for kids & the Earth
As manufacturers, we hold ourselves accountable to our customers, the environment, and our workforce.
Here are a few things we do at Sprout to ensure we are intentionally making eco-friendly decisions:
- Efficient Shipping: Flat-pack shipping allows us to maximize shipping efficiency, reducing our carbon footprint during transportation.
- Reduced Packaging: Our packaging contains minimal amounts of styrofoam and plastic wrap to ensure your product arrives to you safely.
- Minimal Waste: When issues arise, rather than replacing the entire item, we aim to minimize environmental impact by sending only the parts you need for your product to be restored.
OUR COMMITMENT
Heirloom Quality
The environmental repercussions of inadequately designed products crafted from low-quality materials are profound. Such items tend to have a shorter lifespan, leading to more frequent replacements and, consequently, a heightened environmental impact.
It's estimated that almost 10 million tons of furniture end up in landfills each year. We can embrace a more sustainable future by intentionally designing and choosing products that are long-lasting.
Eco-Friendly Flat-Packing
We have chosen to adopt a flat packing approach for our products. This space-saving design allows more items to be transported in a single shipment, reducing the number of trips and, consequently, the carbon emissions associated with transportation.
Made in the USA
All our products are designed and manufactured in our workshop in Provo, Utah. Choosing U.S.-made goods fuels local economic growth and often ensures adherence to stringent quality and ethical standards, contributing to a more sustainable and responsible global supply chain.
Replacement Parts
We've placed a strong emphasis on the modularity of our products. This means that if any issue arises, we can swiftly send you the specific part for replacement. This approach not only promotes a more sustainable consumer experience but also contributes to a significant reduction in waste.
OUR MATERIALS
Sustainably sourced
We source our materials from places where we know the forests are well-managed to ensure that they are strong and healthy for future generations.
The U.S. timber industry is regulated to be sustainable and renewable, encouraging thriving forests and forest growth.
Safe for you
Certain elements, encountered in nature, can be harmful in large quantities. While achieving a genuine zero concentration of these natural toxins is challenging due to their unpredictable spread, our steadfast commitment and standards exceed the requirements established by regulatory programs to ensure you and your little ones are safe.
We understand that the VOC levels in Baltic Birch Plywood, a key component in many of our products, are a significant concern for many individuals. Although we apply a VOC-free finish to the material, it's important to note that the adhesives used to bond the layers of birch may contain some VOCs. However, it's crucial to emphasize that our product is Title VI compliant, meeting and exceeding regulatory standards.
We believe in transparency and want to provide you with all the information necessary to make an informed decision regarding the safety of our products for you and your family. While the presence of these chemicals is for you to consider, our commitment to compliance ensures that our products meet established regulations. We encourage you to assess this information carefully and make a decision that aligns with your safety preferences and values.
OUR PROCESS
Intentionally Designed
Our dedication to responsibility is reflected in our design process, where we actively seek input from parents, caretakers, and educators. By combining these valuable insights with meticulous design considerations, we create resources that not only serve their intended functions but also prioritize safety and sustainability for homes and schools alike.
