Safe & Effective Use
It is important for small children to have space to right themselves after rolling off the bed. For children under 18 months, do not place Low Side or Scoop Side closer than 12" away from the wall.
The High Side should be less than 1.5" or greater than 12" away from the wall. This will either prevent children from getting stuck or give them space to right themselves.
Our customers have found the following tips helpful in making their children's rooms safe and conducive to sleep with the Floor Bed:
- Secure all furniture
- Keep the bedroom minimal
- Put something on the floor to cushion fall (body pillow, foam play mat, sheepskin, folded blanket)
- Remove distracting toys
- Use short curtains
- Cover outlets
- Switch the door lock around or use a baby gate
- Use a baby monitor with a video

At what age should I transition my child to a floor/toddler bed?
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) advises beds “intended to provide free access and egress to a child not less than 15 months of age.” These regulations prevent companies from selling beds that are not entirely enclosed as products for children under 15 months. Many families choose to switch their child earlier than 15 months while others choose to wait. We believe that you'll know what's best for your child. You know how your child sleeps, how their room is set up, what they'll need to grow and what you're comfortable with. Every child is different. We encourage you to observe and adapt your child’s space based off of their unique abilities and needs.

When is the best time to adjust the bed from the low to the high orientation?
The high orientation raises the mattress an additional 5 inches off the floor. The best time to adjust the bed is when your child feels comfortable getting into the bed independently with the additional height.

We love the bed, it's accessible for our 1yo. It's comfy, secure and was very easy to build. It's a really nice quality piece of furniture - which means a lot in this day and age.
My only little gripe is that one part didn't seem perfectly sanded.
We got this as our toddler moved out of a crib and it’s been great. We got a twin so we can cuddle together — doesn’t happen often but nice when it does. It was easy to put together and seems high quality. Works well with a Newton twin mattress.
This bed frame is amazing love the quality snd craftsmanship super easy to put together. If you have a light dead blow hammer its easier but can definitely just be pushed together. It was an absolute pleasure putting this together.
After shopping around for weeks for the right floor beds for my twin boys I kept coming back to the Montessori Floor Bed. I am so glad that I chose this bed over all others on the market Everything from the careful packaging and quick shipment to its easy assembly and attractive minimalist look. Other reviews mention a gap between the mattress and frame but I found that gap to be small and unnoticeable. My boys love their new beds and have even slept sounder since having them! Very satisfied with my purchase and comforted to know that it was built without harsh chemicals.
Check the thickness of your mattress before ordering! Our mattress (my green mattress kiwi) was higher than the bed frame making the safety rails completely useless. We decided to return the bed and had to pay $125 to have it shipped back. FedEx damaged the box/product while shipping it back and the company took another $50 off our refund. Now we’re out $200 and still don’t have a bed. We were considering buying the Sosta but after this experience we won’t purchase from this company again.
Easy to assemble and looks perfect in my toddlers room. This is his first big kid bed and it has made the transition super easy. Low enough to the ground that I wasn’t worried if he rolled out and no railing to make him feel confined so he can get in and out all by himself easily.
The bed is solid and great quality and nice minimalist design. But putting it together was a lot of work which i did not expect. The pieces don’t come labeled and they look identical but they are not. Every piece goes into a specific slot and it would have been great if it came labeled. After a lot of trial and error, moving pieces around, we were able to assemble the bed together. Once assembled, it is great.
Our daughter absolutely loves her new bed. It arrived earlier than expected and it’s such a great quality. 100% recommended.
My 2 year old loves this bed! My husband easily assembled it on his own. It is super heavy and sturdy which is great. We paired ours with the Leesa kids mattress and we love it!
This is a great floor bed. My toddler loves it. However, we had to file the wood a bit to be able to insert the parts. We wish the assembly could be easier.

We just got the Birch Montessori floor bed for our almost two year old. We love it! There was one step in the assembly that was difficult to get the pieces together and had us scratching our heads, but we got it to work with a little more force than we were originally using. I do think the bed is well made and I love the look. The best part is the child-centered design. Love that she can get in and out on her own, and that we can flip it over later when she's bigger and doesn't need a floor bed. Very happy with our purchase.
We purchased our first sprout Montessori floor bed in 2022. Since then, there have been improvements with the slats and it makes it SO much easier to assemble. We love both our Sprout beds. We will need to replace a slat from our original purchase in 2022. Customer service is great and reminded me to do so before the 5 year warranty passes This bed makes me feel like my kids will not be hurt if they ever fall off the bed. Great product overall! Highly recommend. We paired it with a five little mo key mattress from Costco.

Our 18 month old is loving his new bed! Packaged well and simple to assemble. Love that we are able to flip it to be higher off the ground as he grows. The crib to bed transition has been great. Definitely would recommend this floor bed!

We got the crib sized one high one low side bed for our little one. It's a great height and we love that it can support the grown-ups! It was easy to assemble due to its simple design. We wish there was a queen size for us!
Quality is superb!
Both of our kids love their beds! They are great because they can grow into it plus it is comfortable for mom or dad to sleep with them! That is a plus right there. It is amazing. Our kids have had played around and hurt themselves on the beds and it is a learning experience. I love that it has fostered independence from an early age. They will hopefully last for a long time and beyond!

I loved this bed so much for my son (now 3) that I had to get one for my daughter too! (16m old) I love that they can use the beds independently and I don’t have to worry about them falling off. We bought when daughter was 18 months and have since flipped it over now that she's older. It has helped her sleep improve so much since we bought it! I also love that it can hold my weight as well. We've laid on it reading books before bedtime or just playing.

We moved our 2 year old from a crib to the floor bed and were very happy with it. We got a full so it’s very spacious and comfy. Assembly was very easy. We went with a Naturepedic mattress which is a couple inches too small, but it doesn’t worry me much. Overall I’m very pleased and glad we went with this bed!
