Whale Rocking Chair

Color - White

Whale Rocking Chair - White is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.

The Whale Rocking Chair can be a fun addition to a playroom. Children can explore new ways to move their whole body as they develop gross-motor skills through open-ended play. The unique whale-shaped design encourages imagination and creativity.

The movement required to use the Whale Rocking Chair is called heavy work. This can help to develop two unseen senses in our children - proprioception and the vestibular sense- which are all a part of gross motor!

Dimensions: 31" L x 20" W x 17.5" H

Weight Limit: 150 lbs

Safe & Effective Use

  • Place on a mat to avoid potential scratching of floors and slipping
  • Clean with a damp rag as needed

While we don't have a set age range recommendation for the Whale Chair, we would recommend that your child be able to sit upright in the chair and have their legs reach the footrest. That will help them to use the chair properly without risking an injury.

The far end of the seat to the footrest measures 19". (We use that measurement so it would reflect from the waist to the foot/heel).

With legs being equivalent to roughly half of the height, many 3-year-olds would be about the right size.

Great Exercise and Great Fun

So my 15 month old got this whale chair for Christmas (now 18 months old) and he and his friends adore it. They pile three kids sometimes into it and just laugh their heads off. The best part is that he grabs those handles once seed and really works the rocking motion on the chair. He loves it and I love it because it tires him out even when I just need him to watch a half hour of Sesame Street.

It looks really good in our living room and collapses to a small stack of boards when we need to pack it away. My hipster friends love it (I am not one) and its made entirely of renewable resources. This is a solid buy.
