What is a weaning table?
A weaning chair & table set is a great tool for your child’s development as they transition to a solid diet and as they gain more mobility and independence.
Why use a Montessori weaning table and chair instead of a high chair?
A baby table and chair allow young children independence to come and go from the table as they get hungry or become interested in exploring another element of their surroundings. This set can be used not only for the transition to solid foods but for any other crafts and activities your child engages in.
How do I use a weaning table?
This kids table and chair can be helpful for those beginning their solid food journey (such as baby-led weaning) or for families wanting to encourage independent activities with their babies and toddlers.
When do I introduce a weaning table?
There are two things to keep in mind when introducing a weaning table and chair set to your child - their readiness for solid foods and their ability to sit up in a chair by themselves. This could be as young as 6 months, but every child is different and you should consider their spot on their developmental journey.

What if my child is too old or outgrows the Sprout Weaning Set?
Taller kids chairs and taller table legs are available and can be used as an "older" weaning set. Other tables with interchangeable legs are available as well. You can also consider a Chowki floor table for a child's activities or crafts.
Can this kid's table be used outside?
The weaning set is not for outdoor use. We do not recommend leaving it outside or letting it come into contact with liquids or rain.
Can the Sprout Weaning Table be easily cleaned?
Yes! However, we recommend taking precautions to prevent stains. If you are planning to use the table for an art project we recommend using a protective cover as many art supplies are hard to clean or can damage the finish. How much space should I plan for?
The table is 20" by 30", or just barely under 2 feet wide and barely over 2 feet long. The weaning set can fit snugly in a corner or against a wall.

I got the leg length Sprout recommended for 2 year olds (my son is 2 and in the 50% percentile for height) and it looks like I'll have to wait a very long time for him to be able to use it. In the photo the chair height is in the middle position. If I change it to the tallest position his feet won't touch the ground.
We’re sorry to hear the table height isn’t working out the way you expected. At 2 years old, it sounds like your son is at the very beginning of the recommended age range for the 18' legs. We’d love to help you find a better fit! The 15' legs are designed for children ages 1–3 and may be a more comfortable option for him right now.
We can offer an exchange for the 15' legs to better suit his current size, or if you'd prefer to keep both sets so he can grow into the taller option, we’d be happy to offer a discount on the 15' legs instead.

We have had this set for about two years now. We took apart the chair to readjust the height and this resulted in the chair no longer having the tension required to stay together. It had fallen apart, while my daughter was sitting in it, twice. My husband ended up using wood glue to secure it. Additionally, the table was used for meals for the first year and occasionally used for playdough play after. However we went many months without using the table at all. As you can see from the photo, it has managed to get water damage through regular use. This damage is not covered through the warranty which on one hand I can understand because some may be using it irresponsibility but on the other hand, the top layer should have greater water resistance as it will be used by small children who are prone to spills. We absolutely loved this set and had planned to buy a second chair for my now 1-year-old son but instead will likely look into replacing the set entirely with a different option.

We appreciate you leaving your honest feedback and are so sorry that this is the experience you have had with your Weaning Set. The natural materials we use do provide a level of water resistance. However, we do recommend using a placemat with any water activities and wiping up spills after they happen to prevent any damage to the tabletop caused by prolonged contact with water.
The tension issue you are describing is likely due to wearing within the tabs and slots of the chair and is covered by our 5 Year Warranty. We would love the opportunity to take care of this! We love our table and chairs. The table is perfect for eating, crafts, play, and even for mom to finish a puzzle. We have had this table for 3 years and while it has a few dents, it’s still going strong and looks great. My kids are getting bigger so we may have to upgrade to a larger table. It was made with great quality and was pretty easy to put together. It was hard to change raise the seat for our older child as he grew, but we managed. Love it and would recommend it!

We purchased this chair and table set when our first was 12 months old on the shortest settings for both the legs and chair height. He just turned 3 and uses it every day, now with a baby sibling in tow. So easy to change heights on the table legs and chair seat. We are very satisfied with this purchase. Bonus: cleans easy too!

My 17 month old LOVES her table and chair. I had looked into Montessori seating, but wasn't sold on them because they don't seem useable for very long. As soon as I saw this set, I was instantly sold. I love how it grows with her. She loves it more than her toys. She loves to sit and color/doodle, which wasn't a huge interest before because she had to do it on the floor. My daughter is in the 5% for height, so she is a little peanut. The shortest legs on the table and lowest setting on the chair work just fine. I only wish I had bought it a few months ago because she would have been able to use it even sooner!

We are a one income household so this purchase was definitely a splurge but it has been so worth it. Our toddler uses it every single day, and we do too! We don’t have a grown up table so when we eat dinner we eat it with our little man at his table! Every meal he knows where to bring his plate. Happy it’s adjustable too so that it will grow with him/us. He also uses it when he wants to color, play with play dough, and much more! We’ve had this for over a year now and have so many pictures of him/us at his table. Watching us grow up with it brings it even closer to our hearts.

My son has used the weaning table and chair since he was 9 months old, and he’s 2 now. The additional table legs and adjustable chair truly make the furniture grow with the child. Other than eating the table is used for art and other Montessori activities.

This product is on f my favorites, I’ve purchased for my nieces and nephews as well because it’s been such a treasure. Got the table when my daughter was about 16 months, she’s 3 next month and it’s been so wonderful to watch the table grow with her, thank you adjustable legs and chair! Beyond being well built, it also continue to look almost new even after two years!
From a very young age my daughter (since she was able to pull herself up) she’s had this table! I enjoy that she’s able to be in her own house in a way that everything is made for her!! She’s able to have easy access to her food, sit to color , or even just a place to rest. I plan on keeping this in the family as an heirloom it’s great quality! It took me a moment to get it assembled and it wasn’t aligned after reaching out to the team they helped me by sending me a new one ASAP that went together easy! I recommend this to anyone with a baby on the way. You don’t need a highchair get this!!!

I was looking for an adjustable table set for a long time, My friend told me amazing things about Sprout products. My 14 months boy loves his table and chair so much! He wants to go there and sit by himself, he has better concentration when he plays on his table. Also their customer support is EXCELLENT! Im looking into get the kitchen tower next :) !!
I bought this product when my child was 6 months old and she is 4.5 yrs now and we have used the chair and table for baby-led weaning, to eat, to do crafts, for legos and what not and it is still so strong and durable. Highly recommend this and only this for weaning needs.
