Mattress Information for the Sosta Bed

When it comes to mattresses that are compatible with the Sosta Bed, there are a few things to keep in mind!

We recommend a mattress between 6-8 inches thick. Something that is important to keep in mind: Some companies measure by the seam and some companies measure by the cushion. These measuring methods will each provide a different thickness.

Here are a few mattresses that Sosta Bed customers have used and recommended; however, not all of them have not been tested by Sprout. We can only vouch for the Brentwood Homes Juniper mattress from Costco.

Some mattress companies allow for a greater range of variances within their mattress dimensions and they can change from time to time. We try to update these recommendations as often as we can to reflect this; however, if you find something on our list that does not work for you, we welcome your feedback!

Other Mattress Information:

When considering a mattress, it is important to find a mattress that fits the frame well- for both looks and for safe use. The following companies' mattresses have a high degree of variance in their sizing and are not always compatible with the Sosta Bed.

Naturepedic Organic Mattress:
While we have had some customers purchase the Naturepedic Organic Mattress without any problems, other customers have found that the mattress was too short, even though the dimensions on their website are within the recommendations for the Sosta bed. This was acknowledged by Naturepedic as a sizing issue on their end, but we want to make our customers aware of it as well.
This mattress was advertised as meeting the recommended 75" length, but when the customer received the mattress, it only measured 71" in length.
Bunk Mattress

If you are hoping to upgrade your bed to be a bunk or loft bed in the future, your mattress should be no larger than 8 inches thick and we wouldn't recommend using a mattress pad. This is so the height from the top of the mattress and the top of the rails meets safety regulations!
