About the Beams
All of the beams serve a unique purpose and offer different kinds of sensory experiences and challenges.
About the Bases
Bases are used to provide support at each end of a beam. For each beam being used, you'll need at least 1 more base (ex. 5 beams need 6 Bases). Some bases allow more than two beams to be attached allowing for more complex configurations.
Multiple bases can be stacked on top of one another to create extra height for the beam. We do not recommend stacking higher than one base with the long or curved beams or stacking higher than 3 bases with any other beam.

Age Recommendations
When it comes to understanding what age a resource is beneficial to a child, we wanted to make sure that we interviewed a professional to give evidence-based recommendations.
We relied on an Occupational Therapist with specialties in Sensory Integration and Processing for these age recommendations!
For more insight from an Occupational Therapist, come see our page about what skills each beam can develop.
Materials
Our Balance Beams are made from sturdy, durable, safe materials and are covered by our 5-year warranty.
- Constructed from beautiful, durable, safe Baltic Birch (beams and bases), and Maple (connecting dowels and mounted rungs) so it's made to last
- Requires no tools
Each base is equipped with non-slip grips on the bottom to prevent sliding on all floor types.
Weight & Dimensions
The Balance Beam weight limit is 200 lbs when on a single base.
Safe & Effective Use
- We do not recommend stacking higher than one base with the long or curved beams or stacking higher than 3 bases with any other beam.
- We don't recommend using the beams without connecting them to bases at the same level on each end. The bases have non-slip grips attached to the bottom to prevent sliding, but the beams do not, and they may slide if used directly on the floor.
- The plain, carved waves, extra holes, and runged beams can be flipped and used on either side, but the long and curved beams should only be used with the flat side facing up, as the additional supports on the bottom are an important safety feature.
- To clean, follow our Proper Use and Cleaning guide.
- The balance beams and bases are not intended for outdoor use.
- Avoid prolonged contact with liquids to prevent water damage.
