    Safe & effective use

Every child is different. We encourage you to observe and adapt your child’s space based on their unique abilities and needs

Until you observe your child and have a better understanding of their abilities with the bed, we recommend a 12-inch distance from the wall when just the platform is in use.  These recommendations are to avoid entrapment of your child between the wall and bed frame. Regulation states "if the bed is placed against a wall, the guardrail on that side is expected to prevent a child from being entrapped between the bed and the wall. The guardrail on the wall side of the bed must extend continuously from one end to the other."

Sprout side rails, headboards, and footboards meet the ASTM Full-size Crib guidelines found in F1169-19.

    Mattress Information

We recommend a twin-size mattress between 6-8 inches thick

    FAQ

Will the Sosta Bed be available in Full Size?

We hope to make a Full size version of the Sosta bed in the future!

At what age should I transition my child to a floor/toddler bed?

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) advises beds “intended to provide free access and egress to a child not less than 15 months of age.” These regulations prevent companies from selling beds that are not entirely enclosed as products for children under 15 months. Many families choose to switch their child earlier than 15 months while others choose to wait. We believe that you'll know what's best for your child. You know how your child sleeps, how their room is set up, what they'll need to grow and what you're comfortable with. Every child is different. We encourage you to observe and adapt your child’s space based off of their unique abilities and needs.

Is there enough room to lie down with my child? Can the bed handle the weight of an adult?

The frame fits a standard twin size mattress and has a weight limit of 400 pounds laying or sitting on the bed with a mattress.

I can’t say enough good things about this floor bed! We did the platform with 4 sides of rails and it has been the perfect sleep space for our 18 month old. The quality is outstanding and workmanship is gorgeous. Fairly easy to put it all together. For the first time ever our toddler is sleeping through the night after months of struggling with crib sleep. So glad we made the switch and to know she’s safe and cozy at night in her Sosta bed!

    Sosta Bed Perfection

We purchased the sosta bed+ 2 headboard/footboards for our 3 year old son recently. We received the product in a timely manner and the bed is beautiful! It’s also so easy to put together, well made, just the perfect addition to his bedroom. It’s our first purchase from Sprout Kids but we will definitely be purchasing one for our daughter when the time comes.

Beautiful, well made bed, excellent customer service

This bed is so great. It is so attractive and was so easy to put together. The customer service is incredible as well. My son loves his sosta and I look forward to getting a second one for my daughter when she gets a bit older. Such a fantastic company!

    Beautiful, adaptable bed!

This is a beautiful bed! Feels very sturdy and I love the adaptability of it. Construction wise, you need a rubber mallet. One of the legs came damaged, but the customer service is usually good so I’m sure they will replace it. Cost was expensive but I think it will be worth it as we will use it for a very long time.

I shopped around for awhile but couldn’t find anything similar in regards to the sturdy and removable wooden slat sides, and MCM style of the bed. Not sure how well the mattress will stay in place once all the sides and end piece is off, but hoping it stays in place. Looking forward to the bunk bed option in the future!

    Beautiful Bed, Needs Work

We purchased the Sosta Bed for our one year old when they first announced the twin-size option. The bed is absolutely beautiful and fits our aesthetic nicely. The product was very nicely packaged when it arrived. You can tell they put a lot of thought intothe packaging materials. The instructions were VERY clear & easy to follow.

Unfortunately, during the build process, we came across an issue. The slat rolls did not align with the pre-drilled holes. I contacted the support team and they sent replacement parts. The support team was very helpful in this situation. However, the replacement parts they sent did not fix the issue. I wish the team would have properly fixed the issue before sending the replacement parts. We ended up drilling into the bed and making new holes. It was unfortunate given the price.

I have already noticed another defect, one of curves on the headboard isn’t seamless/flush as it should be. Products at this price range are expected to last a lifetime, now I’m not sure if this product will stand the test of time.

This review by no means is to keep customers from buying this product, just know that this product is fairly new and there are still minor fixes. The bed is so so beautiful and the defects I guess are part of its character now.

Currently, we have the bed on the floor and it has been great for my one year-old to climb in and out as she needs, and it gives me peace of mind knowing the mattress is protected from possible mold exposure.
