SAFE & EFFECTIVE USE

The Sous-Chef Toddler Tower has been designed and re-designed to maximize safety. Parents can make the best calls about their children’s needs and capabilities, so always have adult supervision when the product is in use. This will enable you to step in if your child is misusing the Toddler Tower. Examples of misuse are rocking the Tower, climbing on the sides, or climbing up through the top onto other surfaces (like a counter). The weight limit is 150 lbs.

As a general rule, if your child’s bellybutton is above the top of the Tower’s sides, you should lower the standing platform. If you are using the tallest platform setting, we encourage you to use the guard plate along with the dowel.

FAQ

When can my child start using the tower?

Many wait to introduce the Toddler Tower until their child is stable on their feet when holding onto something. This tends to be around 12 months old, but varies for every child!

When should my child stop using the tower?

We recommend moving on to something else once your child’s bellybutton is above the sides when on the lowest setting.

Does the tower tip easily since it narrows in the legs?

This Tower is stable despite its small footprint. When tested, the Tower could be tilted to a 14 degree angle with 50 lbs hanging from the side before tipping.

What can a learning tower be used for?

The tower can be used for many activities! Children can do many practical life activities in the kitchen like meal prep or washing dishes. This can also be a bathroom step stool as children learn to brush their teeth and hair. Not just for practical life activities, it can be used to do crafts at the kitchen counter or used for observing out windows. The tower is lightweight so a child can push it to be used as needed, so the options for use are unlimited!

Does the tower have one or two handles?

The Toddler Tower was originally designed with one handle on the back of the tower where a child's belly goes when they are standing in it. The updated design has two handles, one on either side for easy handling.

AMAZING

We started using the tower when my daughter was 11 months old. We added the back panel for extra support and it's worked SO well! She can't walk yet but will stand in here for so long! We have primarily used in the kitchen so she can be a part of the action. I love that we will be able to use this for years!

Toddler Tower A+, Full Plate D

The toddler tower is phenomenal, excellent size, easy to put together, beautiful design. I love how there's no hardware, just the natural wood fitting together perfectly. I don't have a single complaint about the tower itself. WONDERFUL product! One of the main reasons I chose this product over others was the full plate option, as my little one (15mo) is the type of kid who would slip out. The only problem is that the full plate only really attaches to the top of the tower, it doesn't have "slots" for it to slide in on the bottom. Sometimes my kiddo will push the full plate out with her feet. The last time, we heard a loud crack and can see where with continued use, she can break this piece. If there was just one slot on each side on the bottom, it would solve the issue. So I am disappointed. It's a great solution, but a the execution on the design is flawed. I feel like have to micromanage her when she's in there now as I'm afraid she might just snap the full plate out of the top slots, making it unsafe, but also breaking the full plate piece permanently.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the Toddler Tower! We’re also really grateful for your feedback on the full plate. You’re absolutely right, it was designed specifically for extra peace of mind with little ones who are especially wiggly. The current design uses tabs at the top to allow the full plate to be added or removed without having to disassemble the tower, something many families find helpful as their child grows and becomes more independent. This allows the child to climb in if the child wants, while still being able to quickly and easily add the extra support of the plate.
That said, we haven’t received this kind of feedback before, and we appreciate you bringing this concern to our attention. We’d love to connect with you directly and talk through how it’s being used to better understand the need. Our goal is for every product to feel not only beautiful but dependable. Thanks again for being part of the Sprout family and for your feedback!

Daughter loves it, tho is still learning to climb up independently. Stairs are a bit steep. Definitely recommend!
